Agay is a “little parenthesis” in the middle of Cote d’Azur: protected by the red rocks of Estérel that preserve it for nature lovers; away from the hustle and bustle of large or small heavily touristed areas.
But Agay is also a “little star of Provence”: from here you can make countless day trips- natural, cultural, historical, religious, sports, gastronomical, entertaining, commercial, or … just surprising!
Camp Long and Le Dramont
Right here on your doorstep, at roughly 50 m, is the small bay protected by Camp Long. With a small sandy beach surrounded by red rocks it is a great place to enjoy swimming in the summer and relaxing in the sun in the winter. From the beach an 8 km trail begins which contours the Dramont, continues along the coast among beaches and red rocks, and takes you to Saint Raphaël, while offering dreamlike landscapes.
Massif de l’Esterel
The Massif de l’Esterel, 4 km from the villa, is crisscrossed by dozens of kilometers of trails for walking, cycling, or horseback riding.
Big cities like Nice, Aix-en-Provence, Marseille, Toulon, Menton, with their museums, markets, distinctive neighborhoods, and restaurants can be reached by car or train.
You will be enchanted by small villages and towns, NOT less famous such as Antibes, Cannes, Fréjus and Saint Raphael, Saint Tropez, Grimaud et Gassin, Bormes Les Mimosas, Hyères, Bandol and Cassis, Moustier Sainte Marie, the tiny Cotignac, Tourtour, and Mons.
Places of Contemplation
Several monasteries and places of contemplation will offer you moments of real peace even in high tourist season: the grotto of Saint Honorat in Estérel, ïle de Saint Honorat, the Abbey of Thoronet, the monastery of La Verne to Collobrières, the grotto of Santa Maria Maddalena in Massif de la Sainte Baume.
Côtes de Provence wine
The “Côtes de Provence”, not widely known, but produces great red, white or, especially appreciated,”rosé”, wines deserve to be discovered and tasted in the numerous local domaines.
Activities for all ages
Throughout the year, there are numerous activities to be undertaken individually or in organized groups: sea sports, bike rental, tennis courts, golf courses, rock climbing walls, horseback riding, ATV riding, or boating.
There’s no shortage of activities for children: amusement parks (Marineland, Ferme aux Papillons, Aqualand …) or sports activities (accrobranche, pony riding, circus school.)
